One of Scotland's leading commercial firms is looking to hire an additional lawyer at circa NQ-4 years PQE level to join their highly-successful contentious construction team- this role can be based in their Edinburgh or Glasgow offices.
The role will involve:
- Acting on behalf of employers, contractors, professional consultants and insurance clients on a broad range of construction disputes, dealing with a variety of contracts (bespoke and standard forms);
- Advising clients on all aspects of construction dispute resolution including pursuing and defending claims in the Sheriff Courts and Court of Session, adjudications, arbitrations and mediations as well as a focus on providing advice to clients on construction issues as they arise on live projects.
- Working as part of the team acting on behalf of a client in a high profile, complex, multi-facetted and high value dispute with a building contractor.
Candidate Requirements:
- Newly qualified to 4 years post qualifying experience who are able to demonstrate a strong interest or a proven ability in managing and resolving disputes/problems on behalf of clients in the construction sector.
- Construction knowledge and experience are preferred but not vital- The role might be equally attractive to a commercial dispute resolution lawyer who wishes to focus on construction sector.
- Commercial awareness is essential, together with an enthusiastic approach to business development.
