Senior Associate/ Legal Director- Employment Law

Leading Scottish law firm is seeking an ambitious Senior Associates/ Legal Directors to join its highly regarded Employment team. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside recognised employment law specialists, advising a diverse client base that includes major UK and international employers, public sector organisations, financial institutions, and high-growth businesses. This role can be based in Glasgow or Edinburgh and hybrid-working is on offer. 

Role Profile:

The team is recognised as one of Scotland's leading employment practices and is regularly instructed on complex and high-profile employment matters, providing both strategic advisory and contentious support to clients across a broad range of sectors. You will advise clients on a wide variety of employment law matters including:

  • Day-to-day employment law and HR advisory work.
  • Employment Tribunal litigation and dispute resolution.
  • Disciplinary, grievance and performance management matters.
  • Redundancy and restructuring projects.
  • TUPE and outsourcing arrangements.
  • Executive appointments, exits and settlement agreements.
  • Discrimination, whistleblowing and employee relations issues.
  • Employment aspects of corporate transactions and business reorganisations.
  • Drafting and reviewing employment contracts, policies and handbooks.
  • You will also have the opportunity to lead complex matters, supervise junior team members, manage client relationships and play an active role in business development initiatives.

Candidate Requirements:

  • 6+ years' PQE gained within a recognised employment law team.
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK employment law.
  • Experience handling both contentious and non-contentious employment matters.
  • Excellent drafting, advocacy and communication skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness and a pragmatic approach to problem solving.
  • The ability to manage a varied caseload and build lasting client relationships.
